Wrinkle Reduction Sydney
Wrinkles are the lines that appear in the form of creases, ridges, or folds in your skin. The prime cause of wrinkles is ageing, but the condition can also develop as a result of sun damage, dehydration, and other unhealthy lifestyles such as smoking.
All of these causative factors weaken the natural ability of the body to produce collagen and elastin – the two important protein structures that help maintain moist and firm skin. As a result of collagen and elastin loss, the skin gets thinner and drier. This ultimately leads to wrinkle formation.
Based on where they appear and for how long they stay, common forms of wrinkles are:
- Fine Lines
- Crow’s Feet
- Forehead Wrinkles
Picosecond Wrinkle Reduction
Are you struggling with fine lines or wrinkles? Are you looking for an effective, non-invasive treatment that can ease those lines and give you a much younger look?
At LaserALL® Dermal Clinics, we use Picosecond skin rejuvenation laser therapy to reduce mild to moderate wrinkles and fine lines. To generate new collagen that will help restore your youthful looks, the laser delivers photoacoustic (sound) energy to the dermis to stimulate the fibroblast cells. The specialised sound energy also treats redness and pigment in the skin’s dermal layer.
Superficial wrinkles (Dynamic, Crinkle Lines) can also be targeted individually without damage.
There are a few different types of wrinkles and folds:
- Dynamic wrinkles,
- Crinkle/Atrophic Wrinkles,
- Static wrinkles,
- Wrinkle Elastotic folds,
- Gravitational folds,
- Compression Wrinkles.
Dynamic Wrinkles are caused by contraction of muscles that are attached to the overlying skin. Each muscle contraction causes the skin to bunch together, forming lines between the bulk of the muscle.
The most common locations for dynamic wrinkles are between the eyebrows, forehead wrinkles, and on the cheeks near the outer corners of the eyes, referred to as ‘crow’s feet’.
Crinkle/Atrophic Wrinkles also known as atrophic crinkling rhytids, crinkle lines are relatively shallow. They run in parallel to each other, often on the forehead, and disappear when the skin is stretched.
Static Wrinkles are caused by damage to the skin from sun, smoking, genetics, poor nutrition, or from prolonged dynamic wrinkling.
Wrinkle Elastotic Folds, is often due to sagging of the facial structures, which cause deep grooves between the nose and mouth known as the naso-labial groove, base of the neck, lips, and the cheeks.
Gravitational Folds occur naturally with age as our skin loses structure and firmness with age, starts to fold and sag particularly prominent on the neck, chin, and jowls.
Compression Wrinkles can be caused when you sleep on your stomach or side. These happen when your face is compressed or squashed into a surface like your pillow, leaving behind wrinkles that may gradually fade throughout the day or could become permanent.
In the case of compression wrinkles that have already become permanent or very noticeable, hyaluronic acid fillers can help plump and soften the appearance of wrinkles or a good quality laser facial resurfacing course can stimulate collagen and elastin production.
A course of 3 or more treatments are recommended for best results.
The procedure has minimal downtime and you can expect the best possible results in a very short time.
